Equine Behavior Questions and Answers

The Question: Is it a fact that some dark colored horses do not like light colored (gray/white) horses or is it just coincidence and the color has nothing to do with it?

The Answer

Howdy.

Although I've heard many horse people claim that dark colored horses tend to dislike gray and white horses, I haven't seen any evidence to back this up. In fact, my geldings Elvis and Jawhari are 'best pals'. Elvis is a dark bay and Jawhari is a flea-bitten gray. If you look at wild or feral horses, you'll see many different colors of horses all grazing together.
